Tofi training heads to the Solomon Islands, March 2006
With the assistance of a small grant from the Australian UNESCO National Commission and additional support from the Catholic Education Office Melbourne, plans are well underway to deliver the 2006 PAN Training and Development Program at the Curriculum Development Centre (CDC) in Honiara from March 27-29.
Having travelled to Melbourne to participate in the 2005 program, director of the CDC Franco Rodi, now looks forward to inducting 15 CDC curriculum officers and 8 additional Honiara-based teachers and teacher educators into the Teachers of the Future Initiative. Franco believes that with training, there is great potential for this group to make good use of the online collaboration tools for their work and continued professional learning and to also assist other educators in the Solomon Islands to do likewise.
