What's Happening in My Place eMentor Networks on the way, 2006 A group of education officers at the Catholic Education Office Melbourne who are TOFI members, are currently creating myclasses pages to support the introduction of TOFI eMentor Networks. The networks are part of a strategy to further develop TOFI during 2006. Each network will be dedicated to a particular educational focus. An eMentor will be appointed to manage each network’s class page to facilitate opportunities amongst TOFI participants for the exchange of ideas and resources relating to the focus area. In the initial stages, there will be five eMentor Networks focusing on: During April and May 2006, the eMentor Networks will be trialed with participants of the 2005 PAN Training and Development program. Following the trial phase, all registered TOFI members will receive an email with guidelines for registering and participating in the networks. The eMentor Networks will accessed through the myclasses link on the top menu bar of the Member Workspace Fiji teachers show their support for TOFI, 2005 Following the lead of St Joseph’s Secondary School deputy principal Luisa Kamenio, an increasing number of Fijian principals and teachers are demonstrating a real commitment to their own professional learning by stepping into the ‘brave new ICT world’ of their students. There are now more than 40 educators from Fiji who have registered to participate in TOFI, forming clusters of colleagues with a common desire to make the best use of digital technologies for learning – both their own and their students. TOFI Project Highlighted at International Conference, University of Adelaide, South Australia, November 28 – December 3, 2004 A UNESCO sponsored international conference on Education for Shared Values for Intercultural and Interfaith Understanding provided a range of opportunities to promote the Teachers of the Future Initiative, to speak with other educators about the potential for this project to support professional learning and exchange throughout the Pacific sub-region and to encourage new members to join. The Adelaide setting for the conference offered wonderful opportunities for intercultural and interfaith dialogue through workshops, field trips and plenary sessions, culminating in the development of a conference declaration which can be viewed by clicking here.
